Cooling
Efficient cooling is a prerequisite for many applications regarding food safety, production processes and comfort. For residential and industrial complexes, buildings, wine cellars, hospitals, hotels and storage facilities cooling is of highest importance. Load shedding is also a topic in South Africa and grid connection is sometimes insecure.
The traditional method of cooling (down to -10 °C) is highly energy consuming and inefficient, it also may lead to a growing electricity demand, sometimes even power sheddings and insecure supply, higher FX cost for imported diesel or fuel and permanently rising electricity cost.
Cooling can only be performed by removing energy from the air or the room to be cooled. In the typical (most of the year) case of simultaneously cooling and preparation of DHW, the heat pump can use removed energy for heating your DHW or your pool and only if there is no use for thermal energy a potential difference has to be dumped to outside air or ground. This is a lot smarter than spending electricity to combat the heat on the one hand side and spending additional energy for heating up water for DHW on the other.
The best way to cool your premises is via a European style underfloor heating/cooling system. In case of the absence of a UFH/UFC system traditional fan coils or cassettes of every size can be serviced with cold water via a simple closed loop. Up to 4 different service temperatures can be provided by a single heat pump and cooling fluid temperatures of down to -10 °C can be provided.
For industrial use cooling performance can be provided in any range and for all applications except deep freeze. In any case there is substantial savings potential compared to traditional installations as the power consumption of our heat pump is only a fraction of traditional equipment.
