Technology

For home owners, small and medium entities with high demand in cooling, heating or hot water and property developers it is crucial for profitability and success to strive for own and independent solutions.
Our solution is a state of the art technology, widely used in the rest of the world, is (almost) grid independent, easy to implement and has an attractive pay back of 3-6 years. Apart from annual cost savings of up to 80% of the electricity bill, it is a renewable, sustainable, green and almost CO2 free technology.
Direct use of geothermal or ambient energy is one of the oldest, most versatile and common forms of utilizing energy provided by earth, relatively easy to access and offers by hands of a heat pump (HP) ubiquitous applications for heating, cooling and DHW production at the same time.
HP’s use the relatively constant temperature of the earth or an ambient source to provide complete heating, cooling and domestic hot water preparation for private homes, schools, governmental and commercial buildings as well as for manifold industrial uses.

A relatively small amount of electricity input (can also be sourced with solar panels) is required to run the heat pump. However, the energy output is in the order of 4.5 to 6 times of this input (depending on the targeted temperature spread) as the difference is obtained from ambient sources like geothermal, ground- or seawater or the surrounding air.

A HP causes heat to flow “uphill” from a lower to higher temperature level – really nothing more than a refrigeration unit that works in reverse mode. By choosing the right HP, heating, active cooling and DHW can be provided simultaneously and with high performance ratios. As possible performance ranges from 1 to 600 kW and temperatures can range from -15 to +70 °C, these systems are suited for use in family homes, office buildings and industrial applications like wineries, shopping centers and hotels.

As todays consumers and tourists more and more pay attention to sustainable aspects it is an attractive marketing argument to use this technology.

Using this technology is sustainable, energy efficient, reduces CO2 footprint, is key to green building and will help to solve South Africa’s energy supply. It can make private and industrial users almost independent from the national grid and saves up to 80% of your monthly electricity bill.
